Why We Must Read to Our Kids

We have always known that reading to young kids is beneficial to them. Listening to stories helps children to learn new words and develop language skills. It also helps them to learn the importance of books from an early age. Later in life, this will help them to study hard and become successful. Last but not least, reading helps to strengthen the relationship between parent and child.

These days, reading to kids is even more important than ever before. Here’s why. Technological devices are taking over our lives. One study found that in 2016, 25% of Americans had not read a book in the last year, up from 8% in 1978. Many of us are reading less, and that time is being replaced with looking at computer and smartphone screens. What’s worse, when adults do this, children will follow their lead and do the same.
